Here we provide an improved finding of fecal occult blood using a simultaneous detection of haemoglobin and the haemoglobin-haptoglobin (Hb-Hp) complex by means of our immunochemical dual rapid test.
The Hb-Hp complex interacts differently with the environment within the digestive tract (pH level, enzymes, bacteria) than haemoglobin. This leads to a better survive of the complex which allows detection of fecal occult blood although haemoglobin may missed.
Therefore sensitivity of occult blood detection is increased by approximately 25% !
No dietary restriction are necessary !
